The National Council of Education, Bengal (The NCE,B) completed 117 years of its historic existence on March 11, 2023. Inspite of the fact that the Council faced many a storm and much stress during its long period of existence, the Covid-19 pandemic snatched away two valuable lives, the Council moves ahead keeping in mind the message of its more than a century-old heritage.
NCE, Bengal was an organisation founded by Satish Chandra Mukherjee and other Indian nationalists in Bengal in 1906 to promote science and technology as part of a swadeshi industrialisation movement. It established the Bengal National College and Bengal Technical Institute which would later merge to form Jadavpur University.
To devote our lives to this Institution hoping to see the maturation of the dream, the nucleus of a nation of a new India and to build up new generations to work for the Motherland.
To create an environment for imparting Education and carrying out Research in areas - Literary, Scientific and Technical for the growth of the nation and to carry forward the over a century old organisation re-relating its activities to the growing and changing needs of modern India.
