Dr. Triguna Sen

Student Assistance Programme

Mr. Shyamalendu Ghoshal, 1963 civil engg graduate and a noted industrialist, instituted an endowment in the memory of Dr, Triguna Sen with a generous contribution of Rs. 1 crore in 2017. Out of this a sum of Rs. 50 lakhs is earmarked for providing financial assistance to school students of class IX onwards in Jadavpur area in which Dr. Sen had been associated. After a thorough search 10 such schools have been identified. 177 students have been awarded scholarships @Rs. 6,000 since inception.

Prof. (retired) Neela Mazoomdar, an educationist and a member of The NCE Bengal, has instituted Ramen Paul endowment in the memory of her late husband, with a generous contribution of Rs. 80 lakhs in 2021. This is aimed at providing financial assistance to economically backward meritorious students in backward areas of West Bengal. 70 students have been identified and scholarships totaling Rs. 6.68 lakhs have been disbursed since inception.

Dr. Dipankar Chandra Vasu Mallik has instituted PCV Mallik memorial award, in memory of his late father, who was a history scholar and the first Registrar of Jadavpur University, and son of illustrious Raja Subodh Chandra Mullick. This is aimed to support female students pursuing post graduate course in history in Jadavpur University. A grant of Rs. 12,000 has been made during 2022-23 and Rs. 24,000 would be disbursed annually thereafter.
Charubala Sengupta Memorial Trust has instituted an endowment of Rs. 60,000 from which one girl high school student receives a grant of Rs. 6,000 annually.
