Centre for Comparative Religion, and Culture is engaged in study and research on the major world religions.

Dictionaries : The first volume of the Jatiya Abhidhan designed on historical principles has already been published by Ananda Publishers. A volume of Dictionary of Place Names, exploring the origins and significance of names of villages arranged district-wise and a volume of Handbook of Vocabulary in Indian Languages planned by Professor Ramaprasad De, await completion.

Indexing Tagore’s Works : Work on the third volume of Concordance of Tagore’s letters, Chithipatra: Nirdeshika-3, by Professor Sati Chatterjee proceeds.

In the field of Postcolonial Studies by Professor Sati Chatterjee: Sri Aurobindo: A Postcolonial Reader (postcolonial response in colonial India), published by The Centre for Sri Aurobindo Studies, Department of Philosophy, Jadavpur University in association with The National Council of Education, Bengal, and Messages from the Deep : the West encounters the Rig-veda have come out. The works are highly appreciated and reviewed in leading journals.

A compilation of the postcolonial writings of Bankim Chandra Chatterjee, entitled বঙ্কিম মননে উত্তর-উপনিবেশ চেতনা is in the press. A critical monograph with extensive bibliography, on the “trans- National” ideas of Rabindranath Tagore is being prepared.
