The course provides students with a comprehensive education in the knowledge, theoretical concepts and best practices pertinent to counselling, specifically in areas relating to theoretical approaches to therapeutic change, counselling skills and approaches to understanding mental health. It teaches an advanced understanding of counselling and psychotherapy practice, and helps you develop the high level skills needed to practice as a professional counsellor in many specialized therapeutic areas.
The course focuses on the interpersonal relationship between the client and therapist, and the philosophies and practices of major schools of counselling. More specifically, the course provides students with opportunities to build their analytical and critical thinking skills. The course provides a critical perspective on the influence of social structures on individual wellbeing, and develops skills necessary for counselling clients from diverse backgrounds

Eligibility: The candidate must be a graduate in any discipline from a recognized UniversityIndian/Foreign. Those who are graduating in the current year can also apply.
Duration: Eighteen months. Classes are held on Thursdays and Fridays from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. Skills Facilitation classes are held on specific Saturdays.. Workshops are held for full day on pre-notified Holidays. DUE TO PANDEMIC ALL CLASSES ARE NOW HELD ONLINE, 6:30-8:30
Course Content: The course has been designed for those who wish to combine study with work commitments. The course includes participatory and experiential learning, whole day workshops, and interactive group work, face-to-face individual personal growth sessions, hands-on skills training and Dissertation and Internship opportunity in schools under supervision of facilitators.
Basic Counselling Skills: Characteristics of a Counsellor, Barriers to Listening, Active Listening, Improper Responses, Proper Responding – Reflection,, Paraphrasing & other responses in counselling, Different Aspects of the Process of Counselling.
